Estelle Getty, the youngest of the four Golden Girls, died this morning. Growing up and watching the sexy single seniors in Miami, I couldn't help but wonder if my future included sholder pads and sequins. Head over to Towleroad for a nice tribute and some clips of Estelle at her best.

Awards Season? In May?

Yep! Logo, the gay and lesbian TV network is hosting their first NewNowNext Awards. It will air on Saturday, June 17, 2008. My friend, and world-famous blogger, Arjan, is not only presenting, but he is presenting HIS award. It is called the ArjanWrites.com Brink of Fame: Song Award. Congratulations Arjan, and everyone be sure to watch!

I Heart Idol

No music group owes Guitar Hero a greater debt of gratitude than Heart. Had millions of kids not 'strummed' their heart's out to Heart's Barracuda (including this eight year old), they might have had the opportunity the did last night - performing with Fergie on Idol Gives Back. It was a great performance. Check out the clip below.

If Tina can do it...

Everyone needs a goal, and mine is to be as in shape as Tina Turner is when I am 68 years old (it is a much better shape than Aretha was in). That is going to take a lot of work (and not the kind of work that the woman selected to introduce the act has undergone). Starting today, I am going to make Proud Mary my new motivation - when I feel too tired to go to the gym, I am going remember Tina and Beyonce at the Grammys - if Tina can do it, I can do it!
